Former Director and Founding Chairman, Dr. V. Rangaraj, an esteemed alumnus of the University of Mumbai and the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management, has carved a notable path in international trade and economic relations. Beginning his career at CITIBANK as a Management Trainee, he quickly advanced to serve as a Trade Specialist with the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service, where he contributed 18 years to enhancing Indo-US trade relations. His efforts culminated in the receipt of the Meritorious Honor Award from the U.S. Department of State.
Dr. Rangaraj's leadership extended to the corporate sector when he took on roles as Executive Director and then President of the Indo American Chamber of Commerce (IACC). His tenure saw the launch of the first-ever Indo-US Economic Summit in Mumbai, significantly bolstering bilateral trade. He later joined the ESSAR Group as Senior Vice President of Corporate Relations and also served as an Advisor for Corporate Strategy and Business Development at the Aditya Birla Group, further impacting global business development.
His accolades include a Meritorious Certificate of Appreciation from the U.S. Government during President Bill Clinton’s visit in 2000, recognizing his role in expanding Indo-US Economic Relations. Dr. Rangaraj's record-setting journey from an employee to National President of the IACC is a testament to his profound impact on Indian industry.
Currently, Dr. Rangaraj is a member of the Steering Committee of IACC and holds positions on the Governing Body of IES Management College and as Chairman of the Advisory Board at SIWS School & College. He is also a Director at Anthill Spaces Limited, part of the EDIFICE GROUP. His contributions to culture are equally notable; he is actively involved as the Trustee and Hon. Secretary of Shanmukhananda Hall, playing a pivotal role in its reconstruction after a devastating fire in 1990.
